Well & Water Testing

Private Water Wells

The assurance of a safe drinking water supply is of the utmost importance in the field of Public Health. While municipal water sources (city water) are regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), it is the responsibility of the DeWitt-Piatt Bi-County Health Department to assist individuals whose homes are served by a private water well.

Sampling for coliform (the presence of bacteria) may be completed by a representative of the health department. Please contact us at (217) 762-7911 or (217) 935-3427 to request sampling or stop by one of our offices for a test kit that you can complete yourself.
