DeWitt: 6 new cases in Farmer City. 3 new cases in Clinton.

With these additional cases, DeWitt Co has had a total of 689 cases; Piatt Co has had a total of 842 cases.  It is estimated that there are currently 240 active cases, 101 in DeWitt Co and 139 in Piatt Co.  However, remember the term "Active" cases is a misnomer and represents only those who have received a confirmed positive test.  Many more cases may exist in the population who have not testing for the disease, both symptomatic and asymptomatic.

Sadly, an additional death was reported over the weekend, a DeWitt Co resident in her 70s.  There have been 15 deaths total in DeWitt Co due to COVID-19, 5 deaths total in Piatt Co.

Remember, cases are spiking locally, statewide, and nationwide.  Please refrain from attending events/parties/gatherings.  Please don't host such gatherings.   WASH your hands frequently, WATCH your distance (6 feet or more), WEAR a mask when in public.  Protect vulnerable populations.  Please test even when asymptomatic.

We will be hosting a mobile testing unit at our Monticello office located at 1020 S. Market St. in Monticello on Saturday Dec 5 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We are receiving word now of delays in test results.  Diagnoses of tests through IDPH testing sites and state labs are 7 to 10 days behind.  This will lead to further delays in contact tracing.  We cannot begin contact tracing until a confirmed test is in our system.

Thank you!
