The DeWitt-Piatt Bi-County Health Department has a full-time position open for a Public Health Administrator to plan, organize and direct the activities of a predominately rural Bi-County agency serving approximately 35,000 residents. The successful candidate would have a Master’s degree in community health, public administration, business administration or a related field; and 3-5 years of considerable, progressively responsible experience (3-5 years) in a division or unit; preferably at the organizational level.
This individual must be adept at personnel, fiscal, and grant management, and have a firm understanding of operations of public sector organizations and be skilled at both oral and written communication. Position will remain open until filled.

Public Health Nurse
DeWitt-Piatt Bi-County Health Department has a full-time position opening for a RN who has an active license through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. For the successful candidate, roles and responsibilities will vary throughout each of our programs which include Maternal and Child Health, Immunizations, and Communicable Disease Surveillance/Reporting. Prior public health experience is preferred but not required.
Starting salary ranges from $43,000 - $45,000 plus benefits.

The DeWitt-Piatt Bi-County Health Department is currently seeking a full-time Sanitarian. The successful candidate must demonstrate knowledge about public health in relation to food protection, on-site wastewater remediation, and on-site potable water protection. In addition, the individual will provide expertise in programs related to nuisance control, vector borne diseases, and other environmental health related fields. Excellent computer and communication skills are a must. A Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health, Biology, Chemistry or related field is required. Previous work experience in a similar role is preferred but not required. 36K to 43K to start (depending on qualifications) plus benefits.

The successful applicant will provide assistance including answering phones, scheduling clients, entering service data into electronic records, billing insurance, completing deposits, and may provide general support to other agency functions. The position requires at least a high school diploma or GED equivalent, valid driver’s license, and CPR certification. Pay starts at $17/hr. depending upon experience.
