DeWitt: No cases reported.

Piatt: 1 new case in Milmine.

 

09/21/2021 Tuesday

DeWitt: 7 new cases in Clinton. 1 new case in Waynesville.  1 new case in Wapella. 1 new case in Kenney.

Piatt: 1 new case in Monticello. 1 new case in La Place. 1 new case in DeLand. 1 new case in Milmine.

DeWitt: 5 new cases in Clinton. 1 new case in Lane.

Piatt: 3 new cases in Monticello. 2 new cases in Bement. 1 new case in White Heath. 1 new case in Ivesdale.  1 new case in Mansfield.

DeWitt: 4 new cases in Clinton.

DeWitt: 1 new case in Wapella.  1 new case in Weldon. 1 new case in Clinton.

Piatt: 1 new case in Mansfield.

 

With these additional cases, DeWitt Co has had a total of 1992 cases; Piatt Co has had a total of 1965 cases. Over the past week, DeWitt Co has had 31 cases, Piatt Co has had 26 cases. There have now been a total of 34 deaths in DeWitt Co and 14 deaths in Piatt Co due to COVID-19.

There has been growing concern regarding the Delta strain of the COVID-19 virus.  We do not have adequate data at this time to determine if any of the active cases are from this strain.  Delta has been detected in our jurisdiction.  Vaccination remains the best option to protect oneself against COVID-19, including the Delta variant.

 

Case numbers have gone down over the past week.  The case numbers are near the lowest they’ve been since the week of 8/1/2021. However, both counties are currently on the state WARNING LIST for COVID-19, with incidence rates considered “substantial”.  The county warning list metrics are found here:
